Upsell: How to Set Up Product Page Pop-Up Upsells

What are product page pop-up upsells?

Product page pop-ups trigger immediately when a customer clicks Add to Cart on a product page. Instead of going straight to the cart, the customer sees a pop-up offering a related product or discount โ€” giving you a conversion opportunity before checkout.

How to set up

  1. In the Upsell dashboard, go to Placements โ†’ Product Page (Pop-up).
  2. Choose whether upsells display stacked (one after another) or in a carousel.
  3. Enable the product page pop-up toggle and save.
  4. Click Pick Upsell Products to go to the Rules page.
  5. Set your trigger condition (e.g. when a specific product is added to cart) and select the upsell products to show.
  6. Optionally set a discount on the upsell offer.
  7. Save your rules.

Tips for better performance

  • Keep upsell offers closely related to the trigger product โ€” highly relevant offers convert significantly better.
  • Use the carousel layout if you want to show multiple upsell options without overwhelming the customer.
  • Test different discount levels using A/B testing to find the optimal offer.
