Profit Agent: Automations

At a glance: Automations gives you visibility and control over everything you want the Profit Agent to do proactively for your business, and how it's brought to your attention.

What are Automations?

Profit Agent Automations allow you to set up scheduled checks and recurring reports, as well as requests to be informed on the detection and analysis of anomalies and opportunities in your store.

For each automation you create, you'll be able to select delivery methods which cover email, Slack and the Command Center Inbox.

The Automations index

On the Automations home screen https://lifetimely.useamp.com/agents/profit/automations you'll see a list of all automations, sorted by most recently created or updated.

Additionally you can toggle each automation On or Off to control activity. Some details are shown on the table, click in to each automation to see a full breakdown and configuration options.

Creating and editing automations

When creating a new automation, or viewing/editing an existing one, you'll see the following options:

  • Title: Enter a short title to identify your automation.
  • Description: Add an optional longer text description to differentiate between similar sets of automations.
  • Prompt: This is the instruction you give the Profit Agent to perform whatever task or activity you want to automate. Type here just as you would when querying the Agent in a conversation, or as you prompt on Claude or Chat GPT. Some common examples are included below on this document.
  • Schedule: This controls when the messages are sent, either as a single event in the future or on a regular cadence.
  • Delivery: Add the Command Center Inbox, up to 10 email addresses, and your desired Slack channel here. Note: Messages can only be sent to Slack channels where the Profit Agent has been invited. In your desired Slack channel, type /invite @Lifetimely Profit Agent

Examples of Automations

These are a few common prompt examples to set up scheduled messages.

Make a concise daily recap of my store performance for the previous day. Include gross revenue, orders, AOV, refunds, gross profit where available, and compared to the prior day and the same weekday last week.

Schedule a weekly check-in on my repeat rate, AOV, and refund percentage and flag anything that looks off compared to the prior 4 weeks.

Every Monday report on latest cohort sales per customer, repurchase rate, new-customer count, and whether the newest weekly cohort is tracking above or below the prior weekly cohort and recent monthly baseline.

Schedule a weekly check-in to track my average units per order and let me know if it drops below my recent baseline.

Make a concise monthly report on the last day of each completed calendar month. Include MRR, churn, subscriber cohort retention, LTV:CAC and payback, gross margin, and retention by starting product.

Create a monthly check-in that summarizes LTV by first-order product and highlights any cohort that is underperforming.

Every Monday, pull my top 5 products by new customers from the prior week and flag any that are trending up or down.

Review the completed 7 day period every Friday and compare to the prior 7 days for revenue, orders, AOV, new customers, and returning customer revenue. Summarize what moved, what likely drove it, and whether anything needs attention.
