Lifetimely: Connect Lifetimely to Microsoft Copilot Studio

At a glance: Connect Lifetimely to Microsoft Copilot Studio by adding it as an MCP tool to your agent. Once connected, your Copilot Studio agent can query Lifetimely data using natural language.

What this enables

Adding Lifetimely as an MCP tool in Copilot Studio lets your AI agent query your store's profitability, LTV, cohort, and marketing data on demand from within Microsoft 365 Copilot or any Copilot Studio experience.

What you'll need

  • Access to Microsoft Copilot Studio
  • A Copilot Studio agent (existing or new)
  • The Lifetimely MCP server URL (find this in Lifetimely under Settings → Integrations → AI Connections)

Transport note: Lifetimely's MCP server uses the Streamable transport type. SSE transport is no longer supported by Copilot Studio as of August 2025.

Option 1 - MCP onboarding wizard (recommended)

  1. Open your agent in Copilot Studio and go to the Tools page.
  2. Select Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol. The MCP onboarding wizard appears.
  3. Fill in: Server name: Lifetimely; Server description: Lifetimely profit and LTV analytics for Shopify merchants; Server URL: paste the Lifetimely MCP server URL.
  4. Select OAuth 2.0 for authentication and complete the connection.
  5. Select Add and configure to finish.

Option 2 - Custom connector via Power Apps

  1. Go to the Tools page and select Add a tool → New tool → Custom connector.
  2. In Power Apps, select New custom connector → Import OpenAPI file.
  3. Import the OpenAPI schema file provided in your Lifetimely account under Settings → Integrations → AI Connections.
  4. Select Continue to complete setup in Power Apps.
  5. Return to Copilot Studio, search for the connector by name, and add it to your agent.

Using Lifetimely in your Copilot agent

Once connected, your agent can answer questions like:

  • "What is our net profit for this month?"
  • "Show me the LTV cohort for customers acquired in Q3."
  • "Which marketing channel has the best CAC payback period?"

All Lifetimely MCP tools are enabled by default. You can selectively disable individual tools from the agent's Tools tab if needed.

Troubleshooting

Connection fails: Confirm the MCP server URL uses the Streamable transport type (not SSE) and is accessible over HTTPS.

Authentication errors: Complete the OAuth 2.0 connection step. If your MCP server uses OAuth, the redirect URL provided by Copilot Studio must be registered with your identity provider.

Tools not appearing: Allow a moment for Copilot Studio to enumerate tools after adding the server. If none appear, verify the server URL is reachable.

Data freshness

When you initialise a Lifetimely MCP session, a snapshot of your store data is loaded for that session. This snapshot is valid for up to 4 hours from initialisation. After that window the data clears, and the session needs to be re-initialised to load a fresh snapshot.

This is not a rolling sync cycle — data does not update automatically in the background during a session. If you placed an order or made a change in Lifetimely and it is not showing in your AI conversation, it is likely either within an active session that predates that change, or the session has expired and needs re-initialising.
