Bundles: How Bundles by AMP Works
At a glance: Bundles by AMP lets you create product bundle campaigns to increase AOV without a store-wide sale.
Ever wondered how to increase your average order value without running a store-wide sale? The secret is strategic product bundling. A product bundle is simply a group of two or more products sold together, often at a discounted price.
With Bundles by AMP, you can create bundle campaigns that encourage customers to buy more, explore new products, and feel like they're getting a great deal.
Here are the main types of bundles you can create and when to use each:
1. Classic Bundles
What it is: A fixed group of products sold together as a kit.
Why you'd use it: Perfect for new product launches, holiday gift sets, or selling complementary items.
Example: A "Photography Starter Kit" with a camera, lens, and bag for a special price.
2. Volume Discount Bundles ("Buy More, Save More")
What it is: A pack-based bundle that rewards customers with a discount when they add multiple units of the same product in one go.
Why you'd use it: A great strategy for clearing inventory or boosting sales on consumables and high-demand items.
Example: "Buy 2 T-shirts and get 10% off, or buy 3 and get 15% off."
Note: Discounts apply to the pack added to cart, not recalculated across the entire cart if quantities are mixed later.
3. Buy X Get Y
What it is: A bundle where customers buy a specific product (X) and get another product (Y) for free, at a discount, or with free shipping.
Why you'd use it: An effective way to drive upsells and introduce customers to new products.
Example: "Buy a pair of running shoes and get socks for free."
4. Frequently Bought Together
What it is: A recommendation bundle that surfaces complementary products alongside your main product on the product page. Customers can add them all to cart in one click, optionally at a discount.
Why you'd use it: Targets customers at peak purchase intent — right before they decide — making it one of the most effective ways to grow AOV and drive product discovery.
Example: A shopper viewing a camera sees a prompt to add a lens and memory card at a bundle discount.
5. Mix & Match
What it is: A "build your own bundle" experience where you define sections of products and customers pick their preferred items from each. A discount fires once all sections are satisfied.
Why you'd use it: Gives customers the freedom to personalise their order while keeping you in control of the bundle structure. Great for apparel, gifting, or any store with a broad catalog.
Example: "Choose any 1 top and any 1 bottom — get 15% off."
