Bundles: Creating a Bundle Campaign

This guide walks you through creating bundles step by step, from selecting the right bundle type to customizing and publishing it on your Shopify store. With AMP Bundles, you can launch Classic Bundles, Volume Discounts, Buy X Get Y promotions, Frequently Bought Together, or Mix & Match bundles in just a few minutes, no coding required.

Step 1: Start a New Campaign

  1. From your Shopify Admin, go to Apps and select AMP Bundles.
  2. Click Create a bundle campaign.

Step 2: Select Your Bundle Type

Decide which type of bundle works best for your strategy:

  • Classic Bundle – Combine multiple products into one offer (e.g. "Starter Kit").
  • Volume Discount Bundle – Reward customers for buying more of the same product (e.g. "Buy 2, Save 10%").
  • Buy X Get Y – Offer free or discounted items when customers purchase a certain product or quantity (e.g. "Buy 1 Laptop, Get 1 Mouse Free").
  • Frequently Bought Together – Suggest complementary products alongside a main product and let customers add them all to cart in one click, optionally at a discount.
  • Mix & Match – Let customers build their own bundle by picking products from sections you define. A discount fires when all sections are satisfied.

Once you've made your selection, you can configure the specific settings for that bundle type in the Settings and Design tabs.


Step 3: Configure Your Bundle's Products & Pricing

Depending on the bundle type you selected, the Settings tab will look slightly different. Use these quick checklists to configure each type:


Classic Bundle

  • Campaign name & title – Add an internal name (for you) and a customer-facing title (e.g. "Bundle and Save August 2025 Promotion").
  • Included products – Search and add products from your Shopify catalog. You can also select specific variants if needed.
  • Discount type – Choose a percentage or fixed amount discount.
  • Offer visibility – Show the widget on all included product pages, or only on specific pages.
  • Active dates (optional) – Set a start and end date and time if you'd like the campaign to run only within a specific period.

Volume Discount Bundle

  • Campaign name & title – Same as above.
  • Apply to – Choose whether the discount applies to all products or just specific ones.
  • Discount tiers – Add options like "Buy 2, Save 10%" or "Buy 3+, Save 15%."
  • Default option – Select which tier should be preselected when the widget loads.
  • Active dates (optional) – Set a start and end date and time if you'd like the campaign to run only within a specific period.

Buy X Get Y

  • Campaign name & title – Same as above.
  • Included products – Choose the product(s) or quantity that customers must purchase to qualify (the "Buy X" part).
  • Discount – Select if the customer gets Y, either a Shipping discount or a Product discount.
  • Discount type – Decide whether the reward is free (100% off) or discounted by percentage/fixed amount, e.g. Buy X Get Free Shipping, or Buy X Get a free gift, or Buy X Get 20% off Product etc.
  • Offer visibility – Choose where the widget appears (all trigger product pages, or only selected ones).
  • Active dates (optional) – Set a start and end date and time if you'd like the campaign to run only within a specific period.

Frequently Bought Together

  • Campaign name & title – Add an internal name (for you) and a customer-facing title (pre-filled as "Frequently Bought Together", editable).
  • Main product – Select the primary product this bundle will appear on. If it has multiple variants, choose which variants customers can select from. A bundle cannot be saved without a main product.
  • Offered products – Add up to 3 complementary products via the product picker. You can drag and drop to reorder them and remove any with the × button. For multi-variant products, choose which variants are available. A bundle cannot be saved without at least 1 offered product.
  • Discount type – Choose a percentage off, fixed amount, or no discount.
  • Active dates – Set a required start date (defaults to today) and an optional end date. The discount only applies within this window.

ℹ️ Good to know: The FBT widget renders on the main product's page only. If all offered products are out of stock, the widget still appears but the "Add all to cart" button will be disabled. You can also have multiple FBT bundles pointing to the same main product — each renders independently.


Mix & Match

  • Bundle name – Add an internal name for the bundle (e.g. "Bundle #2" — auto-assigned by default, editable).
  • Sections – Add two or more sections. Each section represents a group of products customers pick from. For each section:
    • Give it a customer-facing name.
    • Search and add the products customers can choose from.
    • Set an exact quantity — the number of items a customer must select from that section (default: 1).
  • Discount – Set a percentage discount that applies when the customer satisfies all sections.
  • Show on included product pages – Toggle to show the Mix & Match widget on all included products' pages (on by default).
  • Bundle status – Set to Active to publish, or Draft to save without going live.

ℹ️ Good to know: The "Add to cart" button stays disabled until all sections are complete. Each selected product is added as a separate line item, and the discount fires automatically at checkout once all required quantities are met.


Step 4: Customize Your Bundle's Design

For all bundle types, the Design tab controls how the widget looks on your store:

  • Content – Edit the headline, product info, savings message, and button text.
  • Product information – Show or hide product images, add a savings badge, and customize text (e.g. "Save 10%").
  • Totals – Display total savings with customizable text (e.g. "YOU SAVE {{totalSavedAmount}}").
  • Button – Update the call-to-action (e.g. "Add to cart" or "Claim this offer").
  • Products sequencing – Drag and drop to reorder products in the widget.
  • Styles – Adjust colors, fonts, and other styling to match your theme.

For all bundles, AMP Bundles can automatically detect and match your Shopify theme's colors (Dawn and Horizon theme families supported). You'll see a banner in the editor letting you know if auto-theme styling is available for your store.


Step 5: Publish Your Campaign 🎉

Once you're happy with your setup, click Publish campaign in the top right corner.

Your new bundle campaign is now live and ready to drive more sales. You can always return to the Bundles by AMP home screen to edit, pause, or duplicate a campaign at any time.
