Cortex AI Setup and User Guide
At a glance: Cortex AI is a new capability that analyzes your connected marketing and store data to automatically generate, recommend, and implement improvements for your business, focusing on maximizing ROI and Average Order Value (AOV).
Definitions
- Cortex AI: An AI-powered capability from Lifetimely that analyzes your business data to recommend and automate improvements.
- Channel: An external system that Cortex AI can analyze and take action within, such as Meta/Facebook/TikTok Ads or Slide Cart.
- Recommendations: Daily recommendations from Cortex AI for optimizing your connected channels. These can be reviewed, adjusted, and approved for automatic implementation.
How it works
Cortex AI analyzes data from your connected channels to generate tailored recommendations. Once you approve a recommendation, Cortex AI automates the changes directly in the connected system (e.g., adjusting ad campaign budgets on Meta or creating new upsells in Slide Cart).

Key Sections of Cortex AI
When you navigate to Cortex AI, you'll find three main sections:

1. New Recommendations
This is the landing page where daily recommendations are displayed in a card format.
Review: Each card includes the Action (summary of the change), Expected Outcome, Summary of the data, and Reason & Analysis (detailed logic).
Actions:
- Approve: Implements the change in the connected channel.
- Decline: Removes the recommendation (you can optionally leave feedback).
- No Action: The recommendation expires after 24 hours and refreshes.
- Adjustments: You can query recommendations before approval using the chat section in the detail view.

2. Approved Recommendations
This section lists all approved and implemented recommendations, allowing you to track the outcomes and monitor their ongoing performance.

3. Settings
Use this section to fine-tune Cortex AI:
- Primary Business Goal: Focus recommendations around your top priority.
- Connected channels: Connect and reauthorize supported channels. Cortex AI can provide recommendations on connected channels.
- Slack Integration: Connect to Slack to receive and review recommendations directly in your workspace.
- Coach Cortex AI: Add custom context about your business profile and goals.

What AI model does Cortex AI use?
It currently uses OpenAI's 'GPT‑4o mini' model but we could change it in the future, depending on their progress, development and which models are most effective for our use cases.
Is Cortex AI available to all account members?
Yes, all users of a Lifetimely account can access Cortex AI.
Is my data shared with third-party AI models?
Yes. We share aggregate data and metrics, as well as any additional information entered. No personal or identifiable information for end customers is shared. We take data privacy very seriously. You can read more here: Privacy Policy
What does ‘beta’ mean?
Cortex AI is a new feature in beta. This means it is still being improved, and you should expect regular updates and enhancements.
Is Cortex AI different from Ask AMP AI?
Yes - Cortex AI and Ask AMP AI are different.
Ask AMP AI helps you better understand your data and business by letting you ask natural-language questions and uncover insights you might otherwise miss.
For example, you could click the Ask AMP AI button in the top right of a report and ask, “Which cohort drives the highest LTV?”
Cortex AI, on the other hand, goes further by analyzing your store data and making active recommendations that you can implement with a single click.
It can suggest ways to optimize your marketing investments across Google, Meta, and AMP apps like Slide Cart.
