Amp AI: Post-Purchase Upsells

At a glance: Amp AI creates post-purchase upsell offers that appear after checkout — using your store's purchase data to target the highest-converting moment in the buying journey.

What Are Post-Purchase Upsells?

A post-purchase upsell appears on the order confirmation page — after a customer completes checkout, but before they reach the thank-you page. Because the customer has already committed to buying, there's no cart abandonment risk and adding an item requires just one tap.

The PPU Setup Agent

What it does: Identifies the best post-purchase upsell opportunities from your purchase data and creates offers for product gaps.

What it works off: - Your existing post-purchase upsells — pulled directly from the Post-Purchase Upsell app to identify which products are already covered - Frequently Bought Together (FBT) data — real purchase co-occurrence, filtered to high-confidence pairings only

How it works: - Checks which products are already covered by existing upsells (including "any product" triggers that cover all purchases) - Finds the strongest FBT opportunities not yet covered - Creates upsell offers for each gap, with estimated monthly revenue uplift

Two types of triggers: - Specific product triggers — the offer appears when a customer buys a particular product (e.g., buy running shoes → offer running socks) - Any product triggers — the offer appears on all orders, providing universal coverage

If you already have an "any product" trigger configured, the agent recognizes full coverage and won't suggest additional offers.

Getting Started

Available through the AMP Post-Purchase Upsell app. Once enabled, the agent runs automatically and populates offers from your store's data.

Review created offers and their performance from the Amp AI dashboard.

Tips

  • Don't overlap manually. Amp AI detects your existing upsells and focuses on the gaps — no duplicates.
  • Review "any product" offers. These are broad by design. Make sure the suggested product works as a universal add-on (accessories, consumables, complementary items).
  • No checkout risk. The offer appears after payment is confirmed — it can't cause cart abandonment.
