Out of Stock Prevention Report
See Risk Early, Save the Sale
Keep your bestsellers available and your revenue intact. The Out-of-Stock Prevention report in Lifetimely gives you a clear, data-driven view of which products (and variants) are likely to sell out soon so you can act before you miss a single order.
Who it’s for
This report is available to Lifetimely merchants using AMP Back in Stock.
Where to find it?
- Log in to Lifetimely.
- In the left sidebar, click on Out of Stock Prevention.
- You’ll see a table of products/variants currently at risk.
What does the report show (and how to use it)?
Each row highlights a variant (SKU) with key signals that help you prioritize replenishment and storefront actions:
-
Variant / SKU
The exact item at risk (e.g., size/color). Use this to align POs and vendor communications precisely.
Inventory Available
Units currently on hand for the variant.
Days Remaining (core metric)
Our prediction of how many days until the variant sells out, based on recent sales history
How to act?:
- If Days Remaining ≤ your supplier lead time (plus receiving time), reorder now.
- If it’s a top-of-funnel product or in an active campaign, consider fast-tracking the PO.
-
New Customer %
Share of buyers purchasing from you for the first time via this item.
Why it matters: A High % means this SKU helps acquire customers; stockouts here can hurt growth and LTV.
-
Average Price
Realized average after discounts. Useful for forecasting margin and PO size.
-
Revenue at Risk
The estimated sales you could lose if this variant goes OOS at its current pace.
Prioritize variants with the highest Revenue at Risk or the fewest Days Remaining.
Fast actions to take (right from the insights)
- Replenish/Restock
- Place/expedite POs for SKUs with Days Remaining ≤ lead time.
- Increase order quantity for high-revenue at-risk items.
- Promote substitutes/bundles to spread demand.
-
Ensure Back in Stock notifications are enabled and prominent on product pages
- Coordinate internally
- Export CSV (button at the top of the table) to share with Ops, Buying, or Finance.
- Add notes like vendor lead time, MOQs, or inbound ETAs in your planning sheet.
Proactive email alerts (recommended)
Stay ahead with automated alerts so you don’t need to monitor the table every day.
- Enable alerts: In Lifetimely → Settings, turn on Email Alerts.
- Choose thresholds: For example, “Alert me when a product is predicted to sell out within 7 days.”
- What’s included: Product/variant name, predicted stockout date, and current sales velocity—enough context to decide whether to reorder, throttle promos, or highlight alternatives.
